9. REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

This section outlines the terms and conditions governing refund and cancellation requests for courses, mock tests, and other services purchased from HOUSE OF WORD via houseofword.org. All refund and cancellation requests are subject to strict adherence to the procedures and eligibility criteria detailed herein, and are ultimately subject to the sole discretion of HOUSE OF WORD.

9.1. ELIGIBILITY FOR REFUND

A User may be eligible for a refund solely under the following verified circumstances, and provided the refund request is submitted strictly within the stipulated timeframe:

  • Verified Technical Issues: Where the User can conclusively demonstrate and HOUSE OF WORD can verify that persistent and unresolved technical issues within the Website or platform rendered a purchased course or service fundamentally inaccessible or unusable for a significant period, despite reasonable attempts at troubleshooting.

  • Material Non-Delivery of Promised Resources: Where HOUSE OF WORD demonstrably fails to provide core educational resources or services explicitly promised at the time of purchase (e.g., entire modules missing, inability to access significant portions of the purchased content), and such failure is not attributable to the User's technical setup or internet connectivity.

  • Erroneous Duplicate Purchase: In the event of a verified accidental duplicate purchase of the identical course or service by the same User within a short, defined period.

9.2. PROCEDURE FOR REFUND REQUEST

To initiate a refund request, the User must strictly adhere to the following procedure:

  • Submission Method: All refund requests must be submitted exclusively via email to info.houseofword@gmail.com. Requests made through any other channel (e.g., social media, direct messages, or informal communication) will not be considered valid.

  • Timeframe for Request: The refund request must be received by HOUSE OF WORD within forty-eight (48) hours from the exact time of purchase. Requests received beyond this stringent timeframe will be automatically deemed ineligible for consideration.

  • Required Information: The email request must contain comprehensive details to enable verification, including:

    • Full Name of the User as registered with HOUSE OF WORD.

    • Email address used for registration and purchase.

    • Date and time (estimate) of purchase.

    • Name of the course/service purchased.

    • Transaction ID or Order Number.

    • A clear, detailed, and verifiable explanation of the specific reason for the refund request, including any relevant evidence (e.g., screenshots/screen records of technical issues).

9.3. CONDITIONS FOR INELIGIBILITY OF REFUND

Notwithstanding any other provision, a refund shall generally NOT be applicable under, but not limited to, the following circumstances:

  • Request Beyond Timeframe: If the refund request is submitted more than forty-eight (48) hours from the time of purchase.

  • Course Engagement/Progress: If the User has accessed, commenced, or engaged with a material portion of the purchased course or service. This includes, but is not limited to, completing more than four (4) in-person/video lessons, attempting any quiz or practice test, downloading any study material, or attending any in-person/live class sessions associated with the purchased content.

  • Certificate Issuance: If any form of completion certificate, participation certificate, or other official recognition has been issued for the purchased course or service.

  • Product Type Exclusions: Refunds are generally not applicable for digital downloads, e-books, one-time assessment reports, or specific consulting hours that have already been provided.

  • Subscription/Live Class Commencement: For subscription-based courses or live class programs, if the class has officially commenced or the subscription period has begun.

  • Dissatisfaction without Material Failure: If the User expresses general dissatisfaction with course content, teaching methodology, or personal performance, without a demonstrable and verified failure by HOUSE OF WORD as per Section 9.1.

  • Breach of Terms: If the User is found to be in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.

9.4. CONDITIONS FOR APPLICABLE REFUND / COURSE TRANSFER

In addition to the specific eligibility criteria in Section 9.1, a refund or course transfer may be considered in the following scenarios:

  • Erroneous Course Purchase / Course Transfer: If a User mistakenly purchases a course instead of another HOUSE OF WORD course, a transfer to the correct course may be facilitated via a voucher, provided the request meets the timeframes and procedures in Section 9.2, and no engagement with the initially purchased course has occurred (as per Section 9.3).

    • If the price of the new course is higher, the User shall pay the difference.

    • If the price of the new course is lower, the User shall receive a credit voucher for the difference, valid for future purchases from HOUSE OF WORD. No cash refund will be issued for the difference in this scenario.

  • Verified Failure to Provide Core Resources: As outlined in Section 9.1, if HOUSE OF WORD fails to provide the fundamental resources explicitly promised.

9.5. REFUND PROCESSING AND OUTCOME

Upon submission of a valid refund request:

  • Temporary Access Lock: Access to the enrolled course or service for which a refund is requested will be temporarily locked pending review.

  • Notification of Decision: HOUSE OF WORD shall review the request and notify the User of its acceptance or denial via email to the registered email address within three (3) business days of receiving the request.

  • Consequences of Approved Refund: If a refund request is accepted, the User will be unenrolled from the course/service, and all associated progress and data will be permanently removed. Should the User wish to access the content again, a new purchase will be required, and the course will recommence from the beginning.

  • Refund Method and Timeframe: Approved refunds will be processed via the original payment method used for the purchase or, at the sole discretion of HOUSE OF WORD, in the form of a credit voucher. Funds typically take seven (7) to fourteen (14) business days to reflect in the User's account after the refund has been successfully processed and confirmed by HOUSE OF WORD.

  • Confirmation: Upon successful processing of a refund, a confirmation email will be sent to the User's registered email address.
